A long time and waiting…

Sorry we have not updated this thing in a while, there have been many storms here in Albania as of late that have knocked out our internet line for sometime, therefore we have neglected to update. Anyway, things here in Tirana are well, we are both in language study right now, which still remains on the top of our prayer list. We are both in need of a language helper, someone who we can hang out with a few times during the week that will be helpful doing drills, as well as day to day survival skills. Sometimes the language can cause one to question whether or not we ought to be here, it can be discouraging and takes much discipline.
Anyway, right now we are in the midst of trying to get our residents permits, this requires as you may expect much paper work and a lot of effort. Along those same lines we got a phone call today saying that our shipment of boxes (ALL OUR STUFF) would be arriving on Monday of next week. This is a blessing and as usual the Lord’s perfect timing. Although the boxes are about a month late, they are coming just in time, now that we have a home and have begun to settle in and have gotten to know our neighborhood, it will be great to have the final piece in place in the so called “honeymoon” stage of our missionary journey. We are so grateful to God on how he has taken care of us through this whole process, he has met beyond what we have needed, and all of our prayers have been answered.
For those of you praying, you can keep in mind the Albanian Shepherds Conference (The Pastors Conference, the only one that I know of that is done annually) that will be happening next week March 15th-18th although Gretchen and I aren’t playing any huge roles in the conference it is a very strategic time for the ministries of the church. This is a big outreach and resource to fellow churches in Tirana and beyond. There are few solid Bible teaching churches here, and we pray that this time will be a time of both encouragement and conviction, that men will go back to their home churches and be preachers of solid Biblical truth. My personal prayer is for revival in this land.

Reality:
The picture below is the view that we have outside of our bedroom balcony, not only does it portray the trash problem, which is very evident around here, but also the many homeless that are here in Tirana. Life is tough for many, and if it were not by God’s grace we would all be there too…

Thanks for the update, and the email notification thereof. Actually we were all on the bed when it came in. E and J are sick with a bad respiratory flu, c & r had just woken up, JD was in there, and T had just come home from school. It popped up that we had just gotten an email from you (Eden was doing some thing on the laptop) and we were all like...READ IT!!! So then we checked the blog together, and the kids saw some of the pictures that they havent seen yet, and then we all prayed for you to learn Albanian....you can do it!!! Don't get discouraged, just press on! Shall I order you one of the hypnosis cd's? Just kidding.
I hope you didn't feel pressured to update, its just I check it like several times a day....
How's Oakley? Im telling you, you gotta make a rule that all his commands are albanian. This will help, with the language learning, I am certain. OK well I forget this is public, but by the comments I'm thinking actually its not so public, since I'm the only one usually/ I just need to get your email into our address book......Miss you, love you, praying for you...YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE!!! And that's not easy to say. : )
