I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Psalm 16:8
We shall not be shaken for God is our rock. He alone is our rock and salvation. It is for his name’s sake that we are here in Albania proclaiming the resurrected Christ.
Yesterday morning in our camp chapel we taught the kids to sing “Open the Eyes of My Heart”. We taught the same song in the Czech Republic during English Camp there. It is impossible to explain how we felt to hear 70 Czech kids and 65 Albanian kids sing “Open the eyes of my heart, Lord! I want to see you!” As they sang those words I (Gretchen) was singing “Open the eyes of their hearts, Lord! They want to see you!” Our hearts are yearning for God to start a movement among the youth here.
As we anticipate a January departure for Albania we are meanwhile setting our hope and trust in God alone. In our team’s devotional this morning we had a good reminder from Psalm 24 that we must have clean hands a pure heart if we are to ascend the hill of the Lord and stand in his holy place. Please pray with us for clean hands and pure hearts. May God be the center of our marriage and our ministry.
Thank you to those who are committing to pray for us regularly!!!! We rely on the power of God made effectual through YOUR prayers to keep us strong in Him.
Please pray with us:
- for consistent prayer times together and sweet times in the Word this week. And that we wouldn’t get caught in the daily grind of camp and forget to commune with God individually and together.
- That we would be wise, discerning, intentional, bold, gentle, and loving in our conversations with students during this week and next.
- For Ryan and Justin as they lead the camp spiritually. Also, Ryan will be preaching in church again this Sunday (James 3) and Justin will be preaching in two weeks (James 4).
- For continued health for us…God has blessed us with good health so far! Yay!
- For the church here in Tirana (we will leave it unnamed)…that God would bless the ministry here and it would continue to grow. That many youth would be added to the youth ministry here through this camp.
- That Jesus Christ would be magnified in us and that our lives would bring honor and fame to him here among the youth in Tirana.

Ryan teaching in the camp chapel this morning. He explained to the kids what the word "glory" means, as the theme of our camp this year is "Delighting in the Glory of God".
