We are getting busier and busier as the summer nears! Our time here has been relatively "slow" with lots of time spent indoors studying, setting up our home, hosting events in our home, etc. But as the summer approaches, there are so many events that we are looking forward to! There are several teams coming in from California, Illinois and Texas. But in the near future, here are some things you can keep in mind to pray for:
Friday night:
GMI Team meeting at our house - pray for sweet fellowship and for Christ to be exalted in our like-mindedness as a team.
Saturday night:
Prayer & Praise for Youth and Young Professionals at our house - pray again for sweet fellowship, for many people to show up (including the guys!), and for hearts to be focused on worshiping our Creator.
Sunday morning:
Justin is teaching in Youth Group - pray for his continued preparation, for the youth to desire to know God and love and serve Him even more as they hear from His Word, for our youth to be bold in proclaiming the gospel to their friends, and for young men to come to salvation. Praise the Lord: Last week we had 4 (yes, four!) young men in youth group! Pray for their continued interest in spiritual matters and for Justin and Ryan to have wisdom, discernment and sensitivity to the Spirit as they reach out to them.
Sunday afternoon:
We might go with our team leader to a mountain village to visit a possible sight for future summer camps and church retreats! This is a huge praise!!
Sunday evening:
A small team from the Master's College arrives in Tirana. We are hosting one member for a few weeks. They will be doing "computer stuff" for the Lincoln Center. Pray for their time here to be profitable for the Lincoln Center and for the ministry of the church.
Thank you for faithfully lifting us up in prayer! We are so thankful for your partnership in the gospel, and the vital role you are playing here in Tirana, Albania.
"We are, as it were, God's agens-used by Him to do His work, not ours. We do our part, and then can only look to Him, with others, for His blessing. If this is so, then Christians at home can do as much for foreign missions as those actually on the field. I believe it will only be known on the Last Day how much has been accomplished in missionary work by the prayers of earnest believers at home. And this, surely, is the heart of the problem. Such work does not consist in curio exhibitions, lantern lectures, interesting reports, and so on. Good as they may be, these are only the fringe, not the root of the matter. Solid, lasting missionary work is done on our knees. What I covet more than anything else, is earnest, believing prayer, and I write to ask you to continue in prayer for me and the work here." -- taken from the writings of JO Fraser found in "World Prayer"
