Youth Ministry

This past Sunday was our first Sunday back in church here in Albania, however Gretchen got sick very early into first service and had to go home. Although Gretchen was missing the show went on, even though many were disappointed since they didn’t get to see Samuel.

It was great to be part of youth group again, and it was good to see a handful of new faces in the group. This week we spent our time planning for the summer. We decided that we needed a theme verse for the summer that would represent us and what we want to STRIVE for. We also set some personal and group goals. Right now we are still deciding on a theme verse: Romans 8:35-39 or Hebrews 10:23-25.

As a group we set four goals together:
1. Share prayer requests with each other and immediately pray for them right there.
2. Reach out to one friend and share the gospel.
3. Memorize Romans chapter 8 (3 verses a week).
4. Ask what someone is thankful for each week.

What we will be studying this summer:
Before we left for the States to have a baby, Justin was preaching through the book of John on Sundays. We will continue doing this, however at the beginning of our meeting time we will be talking about prayer and fasting and what it means to be totally dependent on God in all aspects of our life. We want to see God move within our group as we talk about this. Justin asked them if anyone in the group has ever fasted before. All them answered no mainly because they didn’t know what it was or what it was all about, not because they didn’t want to. We are praying and trusting that this flame to grow in the knowledge of the Word and of God would ever increase.

Please Pray:
That God would cause us to grow in the knowledge and love of Him.

For this summer and the two camps that we have, that the Lord would do radical things in the hearts of many students.

That we would have discipline and desire to accomplish the goals that we have set through the power of the Holy Spirit.

For conversion growth in our group, that the Lord would continue to save!

For our interns John Bucklew and Jennie Epling, and Gretchen’s sister, Addie, all of whom will be working with us this summer. That the Lord would open up many doors for them to serve and that their lives might be changed through what the Lord does in them and through them.
