Josiah Venture Leadership Conference

This week we returned from eight days in the Czech Republic. From September 17th-22nd we were at Malenovice Conference Center for the Josiah Venture Fall Leadership Conference. Then from 23rd through the 25th we toured Prague. We were able to bring six students from our ministry who have shown a desire for leadership in ministry.

The theme of the conference was “Lead Like Jesus” and we sat under great teaching during the course of the week. On Monday we had a pre-conference class called “Strategy”. This is a method that SonLife Ministries developed years ago and is something that Josiah Venture has used as a model for ministry for many years. It was great to have our students sit in on this class while Dave Patty taught Monday night and Tuesday morning through this material. It really gave all of us a more organized vision of what we want our ministries to look like. The ministry model looks at the life of Jesus and shows us the “Strategy” that he used to lead his followers and develop his ministry.

On Tuesday evening the main conference started. It was a wonderful time being under great teaching. Each day we would have a main meeting in the morning, breakout session in the afternoon, and in the evening a time of worship. Then we were broken up into small groups with people from different countries. Eleven countries were represented including Albania at the conference. It was a wonderful time of fellowship with other believes from all over Eastern Europe.

We had two prayers going into this conference. First, that God would use this time to give us and our students a bigger vision for what He is doing all across Eastern Europe and how can we bring that back to Albania and pray for that same type of movement. This pray was answered. Second, we prayed that the Lord would guide and direct us and the future of our ministry out here in Albania and potential partnership with Josiah Venture. He has begun to answer this prayer. Currently a proposal is in the works to give us a starting point to open up JV-Albania. This is still developing but we are praying that by the end of October many questions will be answered and that God would direct us logistically on how to process all of this. We would appreciate your prayers in all of this. We are praising the Lord for his ongoing work out here.
